Over the past decade, PortrayalofGuilt has established itself as a cornerstone of the extreme underground music scene. Since their formation, as if defying precise genre classification, they have fused elements of black metal, death metal, and nu-metal with crust, screamo, power violence, and hardcore. On the standout tracks “Ecstasy” and “Human Terror,” the band takes their runaway dissonance to the next level. Dissonant guitar riffs reminiscent of KoRn, ferocious death metal basslines, and eerie spoken-word sections intertwine to create a sound that confidently oscillates between *Life is Peachy* and *Scum*.
