Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

Please check your order when it arrives. If you receive a damaged, faulty or incorrect item, contact Midland Records promptly so we can assess the problem and arrange an appropriate solution.

Playback Issues & Turntable Compatibility

Vinyl records can have small variations in flatness, including slight warping or dishing. These variations do not always affect playback. We assess each reported issue individually, taking into account playback, the condition of the record and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Skipping, repeating, distortion and tracking problems can sometimes result from the turntable setup. Factors such as stylus condition, tracking force, tonearm adjustment, vibration and the surface supporting the turntable can affect playback.

Some entry-level and suitcase-style players offer limited adjustment, which can make troubleshooting more difficult. Built-in speakers may also introduce vibration during playback. However, the brand or model of your turntable alone does not determine whether a record is faulty.

If you experience a playback problem, please contact us with your order details, turntable model and a description of the issue. Where possible, include a short video showing the problem. This will help us assess the record and suggest suitable troubleshooting steps.

If the record is confirmed to be faulty, including physical damage or a manufacturing defect, we will arrange a refund or replacement and cover the associated shipping costs in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. If the issue is caused solely by your playback equipment, we do not generally offer a refund or exchange.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights.
