Product Overview
Dead Kennedys comparisons are understandable....listen to that guitar sound on "Clean as a Thistle" and "Electronic Plantation" (love the creepy intro on the latter) - sounds like a watered-down East Bay Ray (no insult meant). But this album is a bit more straight-up than the classic DK's records that were some of the most experimental punk rock around at the time....remember the psych-guitar freak out at the beginning of "Holiday in Cambodia"? But anyways, Jello's latest collaboration has some sting in it's tail.
Jello has experimented so much in previous match ups - Lard being notable, and ... being particularly amazing - that it's kinda cool to hear him ranting his polemical barbs over some good old punk/hardcore. It ain't generic, but it's direct and the impact is immediate.
