"THE HARD-ONS pay tribute to founding member Ray’s racial heritage by releasing a Korean language 12” EP.
Korean-born bass player Ray handles the lead vocal duties to four re-recorded Hard-Ons classics, digging deep to reacquaint himself with his mother tongue. 100% guaranteed to be free from Google Translate intervention!
This absolutely unique and unusual recording is sure to intrigue and delight Hard-Ons fans and armchair linguists alike."
- Stephen Ahn, the Bass player’s brother
It features Murray on drums, Blackie on guitar and Ray playing bass and singing lead vocals.
The A side incorporates all the songs, while the B side features artwork by Ray etched into the vinyl. It will be available in 4 variants - the colours of the Korean flag - blue, red, white and black.
It will be released June 26 on Cheersquad Records & Tapes and is available to preorder now.
The mini-album is released in anticipation of the band, together with Jonathan Sequeira, director of the two Hard-Ons films Hard-Ons: the Most Australian Band Ever! and Harder and Harder, travelling to Korea in September for film screenings and live shows. The trip will be happening thanks to the Australia-Korea Foundation 2025-26 grant received by Sequeira and Living Eyes Pty Ltd. The AKF is a federal body looking after Korea-Australia relations including culture, trade and art.
