Wow! This compilation has been a long time coming, and it is totally worth the wait. The 'little bands' scene in Melbourne was essentially remade into the story told in the 1986 film, Dogs In Space. It was the highly creative milieu of artists and musicians in Melbourne's inner city who made a fertile scene of 'mini bands': essentially short-lived experimental bands who usually only played a handful of shows, maybe recorded a demo or played a live-on-air show on 3RRR or the like, then split. More infamous bands from this scene would be Primitive Calculators or Whirlywirld, but there was so much more, as this 20-track comp' attests. Scene champion Alan Bamford (RIP) documented it all, and this LP has a ton of unique entities, an incredible 12" x 12" 8-page booklet and fanzine interview repro.
