The Evangelion heroine Rei Ayanami was born on March 30 2001, which also happens to be the birthday of Megumi Hayashibara who plays Ayanami (the March 30 part, not 2001). This album commemorates the birthday of "both" by compiling BGM tracks that have something to do with the character, along with Ayanami's dialogs from the show, and a newly recorded version of the show's opening theme song "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis (Cruel Angel's Thesis)".
