Product Overview
Step into the enchanting realm of The Triffids once again with their fourth album, Calenture, first released in 1987 and now presented in a captivating Blue 1LP reissue.
Originally released to critical acclaim, this album showcases David McComb’s intensely personal songwriting, with themes of isolation, betrayal, alienation and solitude, backed by The Triffids' distinctive fusion of folk, rock, and post-punk sensibilities. With its ethereal melodies and introspective lyrics, Calenture invites listeners on a journey of introspection and emotional resonance.
Led by the evocative vocals of David McComb - deep, spiritual and never wavering in their intensity - each track weaves a spellbinding narrative that lingers in the mind long after the music fades. Lauren Zoric from mess+noise said of the 2007 CD reissue: “it is The Triffids’ pop album, and remains a sweeping majestic masterpiece.” The album spawned one of the band’s most commercially successful singles in ‘Bury Me Deep In Love’ (covered by Kylie Minogue with Jimmy Little in 2001) along with ‘Trick of the Light’.
Produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Counting Crows), Calenture by The Triffids has long been out of print, and is now on blue vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner.
