Product Overview
Rising New Zealand pop artist Frankie Venter releases her debut EP a big deal to me in mid-February, marking a defining moment in the early stages of her career. After a breakout year of international touring and rapid fan growth, the project introduces Frankie as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting new pop voices.
Over the past 12 months, Frankie has performed across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, including a personal invitation from Coldplay to open two sold-out Eden Park shows, touring with Six60, and a standout summer festival run featuring Rolling Meadows and Coro Classic, with Electric Avenue confirmed as her next major appearance. She was recently nominated for Best Pop Artist at the 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards and has just completed a sold-out NZ and Australian tour with US artist Malcolm Todd, concluding days before the EP’s release.
Created alongside frequent collaborator Rory Noble (Five AM) and Grammy-nominated producer M-Phazes (Ruel, Lucky Daye, Noah Cyrus), a big deal to me blends pop and alternative influences into a cohesive and emotionally driven body of work.
At its core, the EP is a coming-of-age record. It captures Frankie’s transition from leaving home into a fast-moving music career, navigating independence, relationships, and the emotional shifts that come with sudden momentum. The title refl ects both the scale of this milestone and the deeply personal story behind it — a project shaped by vulnerability, growth, and the memories of a love that once mattered deeply.
