Product Overview
After five EPs, the year 2016 saw Australian indie rock icon Matt Corby release his first full-length album “Telluric," which is said to translate to "of the earth.” With that definition in mind, it is easy to see the concept in Corby's debut album. Years of effort, writing, rewriting, producing and ruminating, the songs featured on “Telluric" arrive with brilliance and great soul. Drawing influences from various styles of music - indie, pop, hip hop, psychedelia, jazz, soul and blues - Corby’s collection of sound on this album stand in an identifiable and purposeful sonic niche that has become his signature.
Collected here, alongside “Telluric,” are four fantastic EP’s that were realesed in the lead up to this debut. Alongside standout tracks such as “Brother” and “Resolution,” these EP’s offer a brillliant insight into where Corby’s career and sound started.
On the subject of why it's taken him so long to release his debut long-player, in 2016 Corby explained: "I recorded an album two years ago that I didn't like. For a lot of reasons I wouldn't release it. It took me a year and a half to clear my head of everything that happened, accept my failures, reboot and have the balls to do it again."
